NTU Flagship Programme: Day 3

Today is the last day, which meant the usual final rushing and packing and getting on schedule.

I feel that this programme was fruitful and very unique, as we learned very different and specific topics, that were around University level.

NTU Flagship Pregramme: Day 2

Today, we listened to a talk more in-depth about our Project. It is definitely not what I expected, and is very advanced. However, we are still managing, and although it is very complex, we can still understand most of it.

I learned more about images and pixels, how it is connected to the size of the image, and how digital cameras work.

Today's activities were slightly boring, but once we started on our hands-on activities it was much clearer and easier to understand, to me anyway. The talk and the activities changed my view on pictures and images. I did not know that a picture could be so tough to understand and change.

I think that this could help in future image editing, in understanding and then acting on it, probably as a professional photographer, or anyone specializing in images

Today's talk probably only scratched the surface of this entire subject, and I cannot say I entirely grasp all of it immediately. However, it is a useful project to ponder over, so I hope I will be able to explore more next time.

NTU Flagship Programme: Day 1

1) The camp and project that I chose sounded interesting as I like Picture Editing, and so I chose this project as my second choice.
2) I think I will learn more about how pictures are made and edited to a final picture.

Plenary Sessions
1: Earthquake Research on the Coral Reefs of Sumatra
Earthquakes follow a certain pattern, and greatly affect surrounding areas, in large differences and also in small. Experts are able to easily gather a lot of information about earthquakes in certain areas just by inspecting the land.

2: IT for Animation
Animation may look very simple, or so people assume. There are different types of animation, such as 2D, 3D or Stop-Motion. It is also very tedious and expensive for each type of animation, not to mention the number of artists it takes, or the amount of time taken.

3: Innovations Breakthroughs in Nano-Science and Nano-Technology
Nano-Technology is something seen a lot in movies or fiction, but those ideas may soon become reality. New breakthroughs on an atomic level allows people to see and even move individual atoms is the stepping stone to even more inventions, which may be able to cure many diseases and sicknesses, and protect or harm someone.

My Thoughts
Although this project was not my first choice, I think it will still help me in picture editing. It will help to enhance the quality of the image and attract more people to it. It looks very advanced and tedious though.
